DUI Injury Crash in Santa Maria

On Friday afternoon, at least two people were injured in a suspected drunk driving crash in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at the intersection of South Broadway and Newlove Drive at about 12:15 p.m. An eastbound Toyota struck a southbound Honda after reportedly blowing through a red light.

Both vehicles spun out of control and the Toyota overturned in the roadway. A third vehicle, a dark sedan, was also involved in the crash but left the scene. The driver of the Toyota, 46-year-old Pedro Pablo Rojas Pacheco, was arrested for driving under the influence. At least two men had to be extricated from the Toyota, and they were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center. There has been no word on whether or not anybody else was injured in this multi-car crash.
