SUV Crashes into Santa Maria Office

On Tuesday afternoon, an SUV crashed through the front of an office building in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened at about 12:23 p.m., near the intersection of Broadway and Jones Street. Apparently, an elderly driver was trying to cross Broadway eastbound and collided with a northbound vehicle. The impact of the collision sent the SUV into a building on South Broadway.

The SUV crashed through the front window and door of Cruz Multiservices & Insurance. The large SUV came to rest in the lobby area, but thankfully there were no customers waiting there at the time. The SUV missed one of the workers by just a few inches too. At least four people were injured in this crash. The 81-year-old driver was cited for failing to yield and failing to ensure his minor passengers were buckled up.
