On Tuesday afternoon, a two-vehicle collision in Santa Barbara sent one person to the hospital. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at Chapala and Islay Streets, sometime around 3:50 p.m. First responders rushed to the scene, where members of the Santa Barbara City Fire Department had to extricate an elderly woman from her vehicle. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Traffic was backed up as first responders and crews worked the crash scene. Initial reports indicate that one of the vehicles was broadsided in the wreck. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported on the scene. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
