A pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle and dragged along the road for about a block underneath the vehicle. The driver was an elderly man who was turning in the Sixth Street and Park Avenue intersection. The driver did have a green light but did not see the pedestrian as he was turning. An officer was a block away and witnessed the accident. “The policeman made a U-turn and followed the SUV, whose driver then pulled over. Despite rescue efforts to save the pedestrian’s life, he was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to ABC News.

The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers send our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the pedestrian. Every year, nearly 5,000 deaths and more than 64,000 injuries result from auto versus pedestrian accidents in the U.S. As cities continue to grow, these numbers do too.
