Single-Car Crash on 101 Injures Two Passengers

A crash on Highway 101 sent two people to the hospital on Wednesday, October 16th. This single-car wreck happened when a driver made an unsafe lane change. The Santa Maria Times reports that the 18-year-old driver was heading southbound on 101 at about 70 miles per hour. While he was traveling in the number one lane, he made an unsafe change into the right lane. The automobile struck a guardrail and went off an embankment. According to the California Highway Patrol, the car rolled and then landed on its wheels in a ditch.

The Santa Maria Times also reports that the driver, from Monterey, wasn’t injured in the wreck. Two passengers were listed as having suffered major injuries. There is no word on their current conditions.
