Wednesday morning, a Volkswagen collided with a Chevrolet in San Jose resulting in a three-way car crash. This incident occurred around 4 a.m. on southbound 280 at Bird Avenue. NBC Bay Area confirmed after the Volkswagen crashed head-on with the Chevrolet, a BMW then rear-ended the Volkswagen.
The Volkswagen driver suffered a major ankle injury and will be arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence once released from the hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the Chevrolet suffered major injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. The accident caused a heavy slowdown, and all the lanes reopened an hour and a half after the accident.
