On Friday morning, a truck hit a power pole that caused an extended roadway closure in the area. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at about 8:00 a.m. on North San Marcos Road. The transformer and power lines were in the roadway, and the road had to be closed between Cathedral Oaks and Via Los Santos until Saturday as crews and first responders worked the scene. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this crash.
Very few details about this wreck have been released, but initial reports indicate that the truck veered to one side of the road prior to striking the power pole. There was no word on the cause of the crash or if the driver is facing any citations. The wreck didn’t appear to cause any long-term power outages in the area.
