Bus Hits Bridge at Cal Poly

On Monday morning, a double-decker bus struck the bottom of a bridge on the Cal Poly campus. According to KSBY News Channel Six, the incident happened at the railroad bridge on Highland Drive. Thankfully, the bus was not in service at the time of the wreck, so there were no passengers on board. The driver reportedly got off route as he was leaving the campus.

Highland Drive had to be closed until about 11:45 a.m. There wasn’t any structural damage to the bridge, and Union Pacific had train traffic up and running again at about 2:15 p.m. At this time, SLO Transit reports that the driver has been removed from operation until a thorough investigation can be fully completed.
