Cyclist Injured Near Lompoc

On Wednesday night, a 30-year-old female cyclist from San Francisco was injured after being struck by a car near Lompoc. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Highway 1, near Santa Lucia Canyon Road. Arianne Goodman suffered from multiple fractures after being struck by a Honda Civic.

She was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries. At this time, we don’t know why the 22-year-old driver, Matthew R. Orzech, struck Goodman. Although the crash is still under investigation, alcohol was not suspected to be a factor. There’s no word on Goodman’s current condition or the full extent of her injuries.
