Deadly Crash in Pala Mesa
Early Wednesday morning, a three-car crash took the life of one person in Pala Mesa. According to NBC San Diego News Channel Seven, the collision happened sometime before 5:30 a.m. on southbound Old Highway 395, south of Highway CA-76. Although very few details have been released, we do know that one driver initially fled the scene of the crash. That person was detained shortly after the wreck.
The crash involved three vehicles, and one person died on the scene. At least two other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. There is no word on the extent of injuries involved or those victims’ current conditions. Portions of the roadway were closed for hours as first responders and crews worked the scene. The crash is still under investigation with law enforcement officials, and one of the drivers was evaluated for driving under the influence (DUI).
