A driver is being accused of distracted driving in a crash that took the life of a little girl and injured another. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, 31-year-old Julianne Little is facing charges for gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run with injury in a crash that happened in February. Little struck two girls who were walking to McDonald’s in Tierrasanta. She left the scene, but then returned with her dad a short time after.

Bystanders tended to the little girls, and first responders rushed to the scene, but one of the girls did not survive her injuries. The other little girl was hospitalized for two days. Little says that she fell asleep behind the wheel, but the prosecutor in the case said that she was texting and talking to a friend on the phone at around the same time as the crash happened.
