On Sunday afternoon, two people were killed and two others were injured in a crash near Lompoc. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on Santa Lucia Canyon Road near Klein Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m. Although very few details about this head-on collision have been released, we do know that the wreck happened near the entrance of the Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution.
First responders were swiftly on the scene, where at least one person had to be extricated from the wreckage. The identities of the deceased have not been released, and the two injured people were taken to nearby hospitals. There has been no word on the cause of this crash, which could still be under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
