On Monday night, there was a fatal hit-and-run crash in Ramona. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Highland Valley Road near Handlebar Road at about 8:40 p.m. Very few details about this fatal collision have been released, but we do know that a woman was struck by a 2000 Lincoln Navigator SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Lincoln, a 25-year-old man from Ramona, fled the scene. Just after 3:00 a.m., his abandoned SUV was found in the parking lot of an Albertsons store on Main Street. He was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and a probation violation.
