On Sunday, there was a fatal injury crash in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened at the intersection of Pomerado Road and Avenue of Nations, near Thurgood Marshall Middle School, at about 1:30 p.m. Very few details about this crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that an 18-year old driver and a passenger in a BMW were heading home from a basketball tournament, when their vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic.
Their car collided with a Chevrolet sedan. There were four people inside with ages ranging from 70 to 90 years old. The 90-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was killed in the crash. Additionally, five people were injured in the crash. This wreck is likely still under investigation with law enforcement officials.
