On Monday morning, there was a fatal rear-end crash in Summerland. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on northbound Highway 101, near Evans Avenue, at about 8:30 a.m. Very few details about this rear-end crash have been released, but we do know that when first responders arrived on the scene, a driver was not breathing and had no pulse. That person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Although the crash is still under investigation, authorities are looking into whether or not that driver suffered some type of medical emergency like a heart attack. No other serious injuries were reported on the scene, and this incident remains under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
