Early Sunday morning, two people were killed and four others were injured in a suspected DUI crash near Los Olivos. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened on Highway 154, just east of the intersection of Highway 101, at approximately 2:00 a.m. Initial reports indicate that an eastbound Nissan SUV drifted into the westbound lane. It collided with a Honda Accord and overturned in the roadway. The Nissan was then hit by a Dodge minivan.
First responders rushed to the scene, where victims had to be extricated from the vehicles. Two people were killed in the crash, and four more were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. One of the drivers, 30-year-old Rigoberto Gracida Paucene, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
