A motorcyclist was badly injured in an accident on Wednesday after fleeing from the California Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist was suspected to be drunk at the time of the pursuit. The brief pursuit began about 2:15 a.m., after officers with the state agency saw the man run a stoplight on an offramp from northbound Interstate 15 to El Norte Parkway in Escondido, reported from Fox 5 News. The patrol officers tried to pull the rider over and he continued into San Marcos. The motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a median.
