Injured Motorcyclist on I-8

Early Thursday morning, a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 8 sent a rider to the hospital. According to ABC Channel 10 News, the incident happened in the Mission Valley area sometime around 1:45 a.m. At the time of the crash, the motorcyclist was riding with a group of other motorcyclists.

For currently unknown reasons, he lost control of his bike on the Qualcomm Way on-ramp to I-8 east. First responders were on the scene quickly, and he was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of injuries. At this time, there’s no word on his current condition, but his injuries were initially described as life threatening. This wreck is still under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
