Injury Crash at Vandenberg Air Force Base

Early Sunday morning, two people were severely injured in a one-vehicle crash on Vandenberg Air Force Base. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on Santa Lucia Canyon Road, Off Highway 1, at about 3:10 a.m. For currently unknown reasons, the vehicle struck a tree beside the roadway and caught fire. First responders with the Vandenberg Fire Department, the 30th Security Forces Squadron and the California Highway Patrol rushed to the scene.

At this time, very few details have been released, but we do know that two people suffered from major injuries and were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. There is no word on their names or their current conditions. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with authorities.
