Last Friday evening, at least two people were injured in a crash near Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened on West Main Street at Black Road, sometime before 5:00 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, two vehicles collided head-on. First responders rushed to the scene, where one of the drivers had to be extricated from the crumpled wreckage. That person was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The other driver was also injured, and that person was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. There has been no word on either person’s current condition or on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
