La Mesa Area Wrong-Way Crash

Earlier this week, three people were injured in a wrong-way crash in La Mesa. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on northbound State Route 125 near Grossmont Boulevard, at about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Initial reports indicate that a gray Honda Accord was traveling the wrong-way when it hit a Toyota SUV. The wrong-way driver got out of his wrecked vehicle and fled the scene on foot. After that, several other cars crashed into the wreckage.

First responders rushed to the scene, where at least three people had to be transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. A portion of SR-125 had to be closed until sometime around 6:00 a.m. At this time, no information has been released on whether or not the wrong-way driver has been detained or charged.
