Marine Killed in Mission Valley Crash

On Saturday, an active-duty Marine was killed in a crash on Interstate 8 and Mission Valley. At least three other people were sent to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. The wreck happened before 5:00 a.m. According to ABC Channel 10 News, a black sedan crashed into an embankment. At least one person was ejected from a vehicle.

The identity of the Marine hasn’t been released. Two people were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital, and another person was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital. The westbound lanes of I-8 were closed for hours while crews worked the scene. Other than a sedan hitting an embankment, very little information on the cause of this crash has been released.
