On Monday afternoon, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on State Street. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near Las Positas Road at about 12:15 p.m. A northbound vehicle reportedly turned into the path of a southbound motorcycle on State Street. The vehicle was also involved in another crash on Las Positas Road.  An off-duty law enforcement officer was able to follow the driver to a residential location. Law enforcement officials did interview that driver, an elderly man.

The motorcyclist was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries. There has been no word on that person’s current condition or the extent of injuries involved. Also, no information has been released regarding any citations or charges facing the hit-and-run driver.
