Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Truck Near Lompoc

On Wednesday morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck on Highway 246. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at about 5:30 a.m., near Sweeney Road. A Ford F-150 pickup truck headed eastbound hit the pedestrian.

Very few details about the crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that drugs and alcohol were not thought to be factors in this crash. The driver reportedly didn’t see the pedestrian prior to the collision. The collision is still under investigation with law enforcement authorities, and the identity of the pedestrian hasn’t been released.
