Six-Year-Old Child Hit by Pickup Truck

On Thursday morning, a six-year-old girl was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street with her mother. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at 8:12 a.m. at Carpinteria Street at Voluntario Street. She was holding hands with her mother, and they were crossing in the crosswalk at the time.

Apparently, a 17-year-old driver in a Ford F-150 truck was making a left-hand turn going southbound from Voluntario onto Carpinteria Street when he struck the little girl. There were also two passengers in the truck at the time of the crash.

First responders were swiftly on the scene, and the little girl was going to be transported to a hospital in L.A. for treatment and evaluation of a brain injury. At this time the collision is still under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
