Toddler Struck and Killed by Car

A three-year-old boy was hit by a car in Encinitas early Friday morning. This tragic incident happened on the 300 block of Encinitas Boulevard. The child ran in front of a Toyota Camry that was exiting a driveway in front of an apartment complex. The driver was unable to stop in time, he struck the child. The toddler was pinned underneath the vehicle. Concerned citizens were able to lift the car enough to free him. Sadly, the little boy died at the scene.

ABC Channel Ten News did report that the driver wasn’t expected to face charges. The identity of the child hasn’t been released, because authorities were attempting to notify the family.
