Early Monday morning, there was a head-on crash involving a wrong-way driver and a semi-truck in Escondido. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the southbound side of I-15, near Lilac Road, just before 1:30 a.m. Very little information has been released about this crash, but initial reports indicate that a pickup truck was heading north in a southbound lane, when it collided head on with a semi truck.

Thankfully, the tractor-trailer driver was able to swerve a little prior to impact. First responders treated the pickup truck driver’s injuries on the scene. That person was then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Thankfully, the semi truck driver was okay, but about 20 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the interstate.
