On Sunday morning, a passenger was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 101 in San Jose. The incident took place around 3:31 am on the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near San Antonio Street, according to The Mercury News. A man driving a Mercedes CLS500 lost control and crashed into the right-hand shoulder of the freeway, south of the East Santa Clara Street onramp.  

A man in the left-rear passenger seat wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was thrown from the car. He died at the scene from his injuries. A second passenger and the driver suffered minor injuries. The driver was arrested and CHP confirmed that alcohol impairment was thought to be a factor in the crash.
