On Saturday morning, a driver lost control and smashed into the second story of a residence in San Jose. The crash happened around 2:30 am in the Francis Drive and McKee Road area, according to NBC Bay Area. The driver was traveling westbound on McKee Road when she lost control, crossing the center median and all eastbound lanes. The car then hit a curb, went through a fence, and crashed into the second story of a house.  

The car’s passenger died at the scene. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She was later taken into custody for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The residents of the house were not injured.
