On Sunday morning, a man was killed in a double motorcycle crash on SR-78 in San Diego’s East County. According to NBC San Diego, the crash happened around 10:30 am in the Wynola area near Springview Road. A man driving a 2020 Harley-Davidson Road King bike was traveling eastbound with a group of motorcyclists when he veered into a westbound lane, sideswiping an oncoming 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a trailer. The impact ejected the driver onto the roadway. In an attempt to avoid the downed driver, another motorcyclist swerved and crashed his Harley-Davidson Low Rider into the Chevrolet, according to FOX 5 San Diego.  

The man driving the 2020 Harley was pronounced dead by paramedics before being airlifted to a hospital. The second motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center. The Chevrolet driver and his passenger suffered no injuries.
