On Tuesday afternoon, two people were killed following a high-speed vehicle pursuit and subsequent crash in Otay Mesa. According to NBC San Diego, the incident took place around 2:20 pm on westbound SR-905 near Britannia Boulevard. A four-door Infiniti G35 was involved in a pursuit with U.S. Border Patrol agents when it collided with a Caltrans truck that was parked on the side of the road. The Infiniti rolled over and landed on its roof. The Caltrans truck had to be towed away due to the extent of the damage. About 100 feet of guardrail was also damaged.

Three people were in the Infiniti at the time of the crash. One was thrown from the sedan and pronounced dead at the scene. Another sustained critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where they later died. The driver survived. Westbound traffic on SR-905 was at a standstill for hours after the collision.
