Earlier this week, 25 people were injured when a wrong-way driver crashed into a group of law enforcement recruits who were jogging. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened in South Whittier on Wednesday morning. Apparently, the driver was near the intersection of Mills Avenue and Telegraph Road, not too far from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s STAR Explore Training Academy, when the vehicle crashed into the group of jogging recruits.

At least five of the 25 injured were reported as suffering from critical injuries. Some of the injuries ranged from head trauma to fractures to loss of limbs. People were taken to various hospitals nearby. The driver was detained on the scene, but there has been no word on whether or not that person is facing any citations or charges associated with the crash.
