On Tuesday morning, two people sustained critical injuries following a three-car crash in Encino. The collision happened around 8:00 pm near the intersection of Burbank and Balboa boulevards, according to KTLA. First responders used hydraulic tools to extract two of the victims from an involved vehicle, and they were both rushed to the hospital. An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was also involved in the crash and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. At the time of the report, it was unclear what led to the crash.  

Footage of the scene showed a heavily damaged vehicle wedged between a light pole and a wall on the sidewalk. An LAPD cruiser could be seen nearby with its rear end on the sidewalk and its damaged front end in the crosswalk. A third vehicle showed minor damage to its front driver’s side.
