On Wednesday morning, three people were killed following a single-car crash in Castaic. The crash took place around 12:30 am on The Old Road near West Parker Road, according to ABC 7. A silver 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, veered off the road, and collided with a tree. The impact split the Toyota in half and ejected three of its occupants. The car continued, crashing into a light pole before catching on fire.   

The three passengers were declared dead at the scene. The driver suffered major injuries but was able to exit the car by herself. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
