4 Injured Following High-Speed Police Chase in Long Beach
On Monday evening, a suspect ended up trapped in a damaged car following a high-speed police chase in Long Beach. The crash occurred around 5:27 pm near 4th Street and Cerritos Avenue, according to the LA Times. Police attempted to pull over a possibly stolen vehicle, but the male driver failed to yield, leading officers on a short pursuit before colliding with another car near 4th Street and Cherry Avenue. The suspect had run a red light while traveling eastbound and was hit by a car on Cherry going southbound.
The collision caused the suspect vehicle to hit three parked cars, all unoccupied. The driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle then exited the car and attempted to flee on foot.
