On Monday afternoon, six people were killed in a three-car collision in Riverside County’s Lakeview area. According to the Los Angeles Times, the crash took place around 2:30 pm on Gilman Springs Road and Bridge Street. A driver tried to illegally pass on the right shoulder off Gilman Springs Road but ran out of room, hit the guard rail, and swerved into traffic head-on. Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department arrived on scene to find all involved cars ablaze. The fire ended up spreading over 3.5 acres.  

Six people, including two children, died at the scene. Authorities initially believed four people had died, but then discovered two other people while going through the wreckage, stated ABC 7. Four additional victims suffered minor to serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
