On Sunday night, one person was killed and another suffered major injuries following an alleged DUI crash on Interstate Highway 680 in Concord. According to KRON 4, a black Honda Civic carrying two occupants hit a concrete barrier on I-680 southbound, south of Highway 4. After the Honda deflected off the barrier and came to rest in lanes 3 and 4, the driver exited the vehicle and was hit by a southbound black Chevrolet Tahoe.

The impact pushed the Honda driver further south into the roadway, where he was struck a second time by a silver Toyota Corolla. The Corolla then swerved, hit the concrete center divider, overturned, and came to rest blocking lanes. The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Corolla driver sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital. At the time of the report, the crash was still under investigation.
