Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Speeding Driver in San Jose
On Tuesday morning in San Jose, a bicyclist was struck and killed at the intersection of Senter Road and E. Capitol Expressway. According to CBS News and ABC 7 News, the incident occurred around 7:00 am, when a red Chevrolet Silverado speeding westbound ran a red light, entered the intersection, and hit a bicyclist going northbound. The Chevrolet then hit a white Ford truck that was also traveling northbound.
The bicyclist suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The Chevrolet driver attempted to flee the scene but was caught by a good Samaritan and taken into custody by police. Both roads were closed for hours as police investigated the collision, but eventually reopened around 1:20 pm the same afternoon.
