Earlier this week, thousands of people participated in Bike to Work Day in San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, this annual event encourages people to choose cycling over their usual modes of transportation. Even though it was just for one morning for some, people were supported to choose cycling over driving to work or school.

There were about 100 pit stops set up between the South Bay and North County. Cyclists were encouraged to stop for breaks and get some free snacks and drinks along the way to help keep them going to their destinations. Additionally, plenty of people were there to cheer everybody along. This is one part of San Diego's efforts to encourage more active forms of transportation throughout the city. Cyclists can also expect to see more bike paths and lanes in the future.
