On Tuesday morning, two people were injured after a car crashed through their home in El Cajon. The incident happened around 2:00 am along Jamacha Road near Gustavo Street, according to NBC San Diego. A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control on a curve and smashed into the couple’s bedroom. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that ranged from minor to serious. The driver of the car was uninjured.

At the time of the report, the speed on the curvy roadway was determined to be the cause of the crash. Data from UC Berkeley’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) shows that 18 crashes in total over 10 years have happened near Tuesday’s crash.
