Over the weekend, a cyclist was injured when he was struck by a car in the Morena area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Saturday evening at about 7:45 p.m. on the 4900 block of Pacific Highway. Initial reports indicate that the 63-year-old man was riding a beach cruiser and headed north on the highway, when he was rear-ended by a white Toyota Corolla.

First responders rushed to the scene, where the cyclist had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries including multiple fractures. At the time of the news report, there was no update on that man’s current condition or on the full extent of injuries. Additionally, no information has been released on whether or not the driver involved is facing any citations or charges, and this wreck may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
