Over the weekend, a driver was arrested at a Driving Under Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License Checkpoint in Chula Vista. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the checkpoint was conducted on Saturday night in the 1200 block of Eastlake Parkway between 6:00 p.m. and midnight.  

Apparently, 2,611 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Of those vehicles, 703 were screened and six drivers had to take field sobriety tests. There was one person arrested, and eight unlicensed or suspended citations were issued. Additionally, four vehicles were impounded, and an additional nine citations were issued during the checkpoint. According to the news report, the Chula Vista Police Department will be conducting another DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint in September.
