Driver Killed After Veering Off Freeway in San Ysidro
On Wednesday morning, a driver was killed following a single-vehicle crash in the San Ysidro area. According to 10News, the crash happened around 6:35 am on the westbound SR-905 ramp to northbound Interstate 5. A woman driving a Toyota Corolla veered off the freeway towards the right and up a dirt embankment. The Toyota then overturned and rolled side over side back onto the roadway. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene from her injuries.
The ramp was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated. At the time of the report, it was unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
