Earlier this week, there was an injury crash involving an electric scooter in the University City area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the wreck happened on Monday afternoon near Nobel Drive and Regents Road. Initial reports indicate that a 47-year-old man was riding a Bird E-scooter when he was struck and critically injured by a Hyundai Elantra. The rider was reportedly trying to make a left turn from eastbound Nobel Drive onto Regents Road when he was struck by the vehicle.  

First responders rushed to the scene. The scooter rider had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. At the time of the report, he was suffering from head trauma and cervical fractures, but there has been no word on his current condition. This E scooter crash may still be under investigation with authorities.
