Earlier this week, there was a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a pedestrian in El Cajon. According to ABC San Diego News, the incident happened near the 600 block of North Second Street on Wednesday night. Initial reports indicate that a 20-year-old female pedestrian was fatally struck sometime before 8:49 p.m.  

Law enforcement officials received a call about a damaged vehicle on the 1300 block of Naranca Avenue, and when they arrived, they found a silver 2006 Hyundai Sonata with front end damage and a traffic signal light hanging from it. Upon further investigation, they found that the Sonata drove onto a sidewalk and struck the pedestrian near the crosswalk of 601 N Second Street, before continuing northbound and hitting a traffic signal light and a street sign. The driver was arrested on multiple charges.
