Earlier this week, an elderly woman was injured in a head-on collision in the Allied Gardens area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Wednesday, near the intersection of Mission Vista Drive and Mission Gorge Road. Initial reports indicate that the 83-year-old woman was traveling westbound on Mission Gorge Road in a 1996 Crown Victoria when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2010 Honda Civic.

First responders rushed to the scene. The elderly woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries including multiple fractures. At the time of the news report, there was no word on whether or not either driver was facing any citations or charges, and this crash could still be under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
