On Thursday afternoon, an elderly woman was killed and another seriously injured in a hit-and-run in University Park. The accident took place around 1:20 pm near the Magnolia Avenue and West Adams Boulevard intersection, according to KTLA. The women had exited the Metro bus around 1:00 pm and were walking home when they were run over by a suspect backing out of a driveway. The suspect fled eastbound on West 25th Street.  

One of the women died at the scene, and the other was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been found. Family members have stated that the police are searching for a white van.
