Earlier this week, there was a fatal crash involving a garbage truck and another vehicle just north of Mission Valley. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on State Route 163 on Monday morning. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle was going northbound near Friars Road when it hit the back of a slow-moving garbage truck.   

First responders rushed to the scene. The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man, did not survive his injuries. The garbage truck did have hazard lights on at the time of the crash. No other injuries were reported at the time of the wreck. This incident is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
