On Thursday morning, there was a fatal crash on the 101 Freeway near Studio City. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the wreck happened sometime around 3:00 a.m. just west of the 134 Freeway. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle hit a construction truck and caught fire. Sadly, the first vehicle became engulfed in flames before the driver could escape. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.  

There were two people working in the construction vehicle. That vehicle was a striper truck, and both of those people were transported to a local hospital. A SigAlert was issued at about 3:40 a.m., and all but one of the eastbound lanes had to be closed as crews and first responders worked the scene.
