Last weekend, there was a fatal crash on Interstate Five near the border. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Sunday morning, on the right shoulder of I-5 near Dairy Mart Road. For currently unknown reasons, a vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. The crash caused the vehicle to catch fire, and the flames spread to the grass beside the roadway.

First responders were called in after witnesses reported smoke and flames from bushes in the area. At this time, we do know that one person was killed in this apparent one-vehicle crash. Firefighters were able to put the fire out, but the cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
